A posting cadence you can actually keep
The best posting schedule is the one you'll still be doing in month 4. A brand posting 5 times a week for three weeks and then going silent for a month does worse than a brand posting twice a week, every week, for a year.
Set the cadence from your actual capacity, not ambition
If you have 2 hours a week for content, don't plan for daily posts on 2 platforms — that's roughly 8-14 pieces of content a week you'd need to make. Instead, plan for what 2 hours actually produces: maybe 2 solid posts per platform per week, batched.
Batching in one sitting
·Pick one day (or half-day) to shoot or write everything for the week, instead of creating daily
·Draft captions for all of the week's posts in one sitting too — caption-writing is a different mode than filming, don't switch back and forth
·Schedule the whole week in one sitting once drafts are approved, so publishing doesn't depend on remembering each day
Example cadence for a solo freelancer managing one small business: Monday batch-shoot (30-45 min), Tuesday write and schedule 2 posts per platform for the week (30 min), respond to comments/DMs for 10 min a day. That's realistic and repeatable; 5 posts a day across 4 platforms usually is not.
If you miss a week, don't try to double up the next week to 'catch up' — just resume the normal cadence. Catching up usually burns out whoever's doing the posting.
